Sean Reynolds, bio
Sean Reynolds is a dedicated educator and accomplished trombonist, making significant contributions to the field of music. Currently serving as an adjunct at Thomas More University and an instructor at Cincinnati Brass Academy, Sean's commitment to music education shines through his teaching endeavors. He is also a member of the Queen City Trombone Quartet, showcasing his passion for trombone performance and dedication to enriching the local music scene.
Originally from Jacksonville, NC, Sean's academic journey includes a Bachelor of Music from East Carolina University, a Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from the same institution. He is a member of the International Trombone Association and is currently preparing an Annotated Guide to Trombone Chamber Music for his DMA Final Project. These solid academic pursuits have equipped him with a deep understanding of music theory, performance techniques, and pedagogy.
Driven by a desire to explore the bass trombone as a solo instrument, Sean aims to instill in his students a comprehensive understanding of music and effective preparation techniques for performances and auditions. Specializing in trombone and bass trombone education, Sean employs the Song and Wind approach, guiding students away from technical preoccupations and fostering a deeper connection with musical expression and artistry. In addition, he excels in audition preparation, empowering his students to succeed in competitive musical environments.
